Uniiverse is looking for developers! (and offering a $2,000 referral bonus)

Do you want to help create something that revolutionizes how people interact in real life? How about building a product that will improve the lives of millions?

Uniiverse is building the world’s platform for collaborative living. Our vision is to help people reconnect and share on a scale that has never been possible before.

We’re looking to hire skilled back-end and front-end developers to join our core team! Our approach is lean, user-centric, iterative, fun and innovative. We believe in the Joel Test. We strive to bring happiness, inspiration and creativity amongst our team.

The back-end of our tech stack includes Ruby, Rails, MongoDB, Elasticsearch and AWS. The front-end of our tech stack incorporates lots of JavaScript, jQuery Backbone.js, HTML5 / CSS3, HAML / SASS. These are connected using JSON, PJAX and AJAX. We’re strong believers of automated testing (e.g. RSpec, Cucumber, Jasmine). We love our parallax landing pages, and 404 page.

If any of these delectable tools strike your fancy, and you’re passionate about bringing a bit of magic to the world, visit our jobs page at https://www.uniiverse.com/jobs.

If you or someone you know is a talented software developer, please get in touch! We’re giving out a referral bonus of $2,000* if the person you refer is hired.

* Payable for full time employee hires (i.e. contractors and freelancers excluded), for this particular dev position. Does not apply to candidates with whom Uniiverse was already in contact.

We are building the world’s local marketplace for services and activities – a user-to-user platform that enables the sharing economy. We believe everyone has something extraordinary to offer and share. Our vision is to encourage real-life interactions within today’s increasingly virtual world and put a smile on everyone’s face (even on a Monday). We are developing a very unique and exciting technology and are looking for talented people to join our team.

We are looking for three city managers: one in Toronto, one in Boston and one in San Francisco.

As part of Uniiverse core team, you will be doing a lot of different things (we promise you won’t get bored!) including building the brand, managing community ambassadors and hosts, writing inspiring content, connecting with people online and offline, and organizing events.

Want to learn more? Read more about the role on our jobs page.

You will get the chance to work in a fast-paced environment, be part of a talented and passionate team, and you will be part of shaping our vision and product.

If you know someone who could be a great fit for this role, please feel free to send us an email at jobs@uniiverse.com - Thanks

attention devs (and anyone who wants $1,000)! week thirteen

We’re hiring!  If you or someone you know is looking for a job as a Senior Ruby Developer, please get in touch at jobs@uniiverse.com!  Since this position is our first hire and so core to the team, we’re giving out a referral bonus of $1,000* if the person you refer is hired.

On this note, we reconnected last week with some developer friends that we’ve crossed paths with in the past, and discussed the opportunity of working together.

Last week we focused our development energy on building-out scheduling in an increasingly robust way.  We’ve come up with what we think is a very elegant solution, minimizing the number of forms required while accommodating all types of time-based inventory.  This was an interesting problem to solve since it has strong repercussions to both the front-end and the back-end of the platform.

* Payable for full time employee hires (i.e. contractors and freelancers excluded), for this particular dev position, after the completion of any probationary period, if applicable. Does not apply to candidates with whom Uniiverse was already in contact.
