A quote from Adam, our CTO, sums up our latest progress quite succinctly:
“This week was like looking at an ultrasound and being able to make out the face and heartbeat on our baby.”
The heartbeat represents our end-to-end user flow, and the face represents our front-end (this week our team produced some very innovative jQuery interfaces, and integrated a cutting-edge form called “Chosen”). We’ve had great progress in past weeks prior, cranking-out components, but this week the pieces coalesced into one unit. Our product is definitely getting closer and closer to launch.
Our marketing is also coming together quite nicely — we’ve been working with some artists (animators and illustrators) to produce some very compelling material that will be critical ammunition for our go-to-market strategy, and we’ve been defining and prioritizing which segments to target.
As we approach opening our family & friends financing round, we’ve been screening many job applicants and conducting a number of interviews. In particular, we interviewed some promising mobile developers last week who would spearhead the development of our mobile app.
Another win this week was accomplished by our slow cooker. While bootstrapping, we’ve found ways to save money while still eating well — last week’s triumph resulted in a very tender chicken dish that went a long way, saving both time and money. We’re thinking about putting together a startup cookbook at some point. Any thoughts on potential titles? ”Code Fuel”? ”Founder Food”?
